4B Engraver at engraver.4brainslabs.com is run by 4Brains Technologies Private Limited, Navi Mumbai, India (“we”). This page explains what the engraver does with the files and text you give it, what stays in your browser, and which Google services these pages use. It adds detail for this tool to the 4Brains Labs privacy policy, which covers the other 4Brains Labs tools.
Files you upload
- Models (STL or 3MF, up to 80 MB) and logo images (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or BMP, up to 8 MB, which we keep as a PNG copy) are stored on our server only so the engraver can work on them. For a model we also keep its original file name, so the engraver can show it back to you.
- We don’t share your files or use them for anything other than making your engraving.
- Uploads, and the working copies the engraver makes from them, are deleted automatically after 7 days, or sooner, oldest first, if the server runs short of space.
Files we make for you
The engraved 3MF, the optional STL, batch zips and their preview images are stored on our server so you can download them, and are deleted automatically after 7 days in the same way. Each download link contains a 128-bit random code, so it can’t be guessed, but anyone you give the link to can download the file until it is deleted. Please don’t upload models that must stay confidential.
Names, serial numbers and settings
The name, serial number and prefix you type are sent to our server only to build the engraving. They become part of the generated file and of its file name, so they also appear in its download link. We don’t use them for anything else.
What stays in your browser
The engraver keeps your settings, the name and serial number you last typed, references to your uploads and a list of your last 30 results with their download links in your browser’s local storage, so they are still there when you come back. This stays on your device. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes it.
Server logs and abuse protection
The web servers in front of the engraver keep standard, short-lived access logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser type) for security and to keep the service running. To apply its rate limits and the hourly upload limit, the engraver also holds your IP address and the time and size of your recent requests in memory. It forgets them about an hour after your last request and never writes them to disk.

Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, a measurement service from Google, to count visits and to see which pages and features people use. It runs on every page of this site, the engraver included. The same Analytics account also measures the other 4Brains Labs sites (4brainslabs.com and its tools).
For each visit, Google Analytics records:
- the address and title of each page you open, and the page that sent you here, if there was one;
- when you scroll to near the end of a page, and the address of any link to another website that you click;
- how long the page is open, and technical details: screen size, browser language, browser and operating-system version, and processor type;
- your approximate location (country or city), which Google works out from your IP address. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
It does not receive your models or logos, the names and serial numbers you type, or your download links. We checked this by recording everything this site sent to Google Analytics while a test name was typed into the engraver and a batch of files was generated and downloaded.
Google Analytics sets two cookies on this site: _ga, a random number that lets it tell
repeat visits apart, and _ga_N20PRFRKYY, which keeps track of the current visit. Google sets
both to last up to 2 years; some browsers delete them sooner. The reports we see are counts and
trends, such as how many visits the engraver had in a week. They don’t show us your name, email
address or IP address.

How to opt out. To stop Google Analytics from measuring your visits, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on; the engraver works the same with it. Blocking this site’s cookies in your browser settings also stops Analytics from recognizing you as a returning visitor, but some browsers then block the local storage the engraver uses for your settings and history too.
Advertising
To keep the engraver free, pages of this site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. Ads may also come from other ad networks that work with Google, which can set cookies of their own.
You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of many other vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu. Google’s advertising policies explain more. We don’t sell personal data.
Fonts
Pages load the Poppins typeface from Google Fonts. Your browser sends its IP address to Google as part of that request, as with any web resource.
Children
The engraver needs no account and asks for no contact details. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A child’s name typed for an engraving is handled like any other name, as described above.
Your choices
You can clear the engraver’s local storage at any time, and files on our server are deleted after 7 days. To have a file deleted sooner, or to ask what we hold about you, email contact@4brains.in and include the download link, which lets us find the file.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
